    THE TEAM   

    Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 59 Chapters around the country. The Information Technology team is comprised of a diverse team of technologists responsible for building and operating the technologies that enable Make-A-Wish to grant the wish of every eligible child. The Information Technology team is focused on providing innovative solutions across these key areas: Operations, Security, Applications, Infrastructure, Governance, and Analytics. 

    THE ROLE   

    The Manager of IT Infrastructure will provide strategic direction, day-to-day leadership, enterprise service delivery, and team management over a group of systems administrators and engineers. Requires excellent stakeholder management skills and effective communication throughout all levels of the organization.  

       

    WHERE YOU COME IN   

    As the Manager of IT Infrastructure you will:   

    • Oversees all aspects of the Foundation’s on-premise and cloud technologies, including 3rd party services, networks, servers, storage, databases, security, and Azure.
    • Lead the deployment of new cloud implementations across hybrid environments, including Azure, AWS, VMware, Salesforce, and Office 365
    • Responsible for evaluating new solutions, including emerging cloud solutions, and developing the supporting elements required to incorporate new technical capabilities in a safe and secure manner
    • Oversees operation and continuous improvement of the technology architecture lifecycle, including design, upgrade, patch management, change management, root cause analysis and managed service delivery, whether performed by internal or third-party solution providers.
    • Assures the infrastructure software and firmware is at current revision levels. Works with vendors to schedule upgrades and coordinates with network staff.
    • Manages expenses to budget while overseeing the hardware refresh lifecycle and coordinating the ordering, receiving and invoicing activities related to the acquisition of hardware, software and new technology.
    • Stays current with technological developments related to IT infrastructure, security, operations, and cloud services, as well as their management practices. Occasionally presents information at national and local conferences.
    • Promotes the use of technology, enabling the workforce to utilize new technologies in support of the strategic business plan.
    • Leads technology improvement projects, coordinates technology management in support of new systems and ensures smooth upgrades of existing systems.
    • Acts as an integral part of the IT leadership team, strongly collaborating with project management and service desk teams to ensure high quality solutions are delivered.
    • Manages the IT infrastructure resources, including drafting and executing its budget.
    • Optimizes costs of organization-wide infrastructure services through internal and external sources.
    • Leads the design, specification, configuration, installation and maintenance of systems/storage/security/network hardware, software, telecommunication services and internet providers for on premise and cloud solutions.
    • Facilitates communication between management, staff, and customers to ensure an effective approach to the implementation of IT solutions.
    • Research and recommend purchases and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
    • Monitor system health/availability. Produces and maintains highly available services to meet the organization’s growing demands.
    • Ensuring the strategy and technology roadmaps are in place and reviewed regularly.
    • Actively participates in Disaster Recovery helping direct the development and execution of an Authority-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

    • Minimum of 3-5 years hands-on experience supporting network, systems, storage, security, and cloud infrastructure required.
    • Minimum 3 years leading advanced IT professionals
    • Deep understanding of cloud services, network and server infrastructure, high-availability solutions and root cause analysis required.
    • Proficient in the installation and maintenance of Microsoft systems required.
    • Experience with Cisco and Cloud solutions required.
    • Proficiency in customer service aspect of technology delivery required.
    • Preferred Certifications: Azure Technical Certifications, ITIL (v3 or 4), CCNA (R/S), CCNP, MCSA, MCSE
