  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for pre-screening clients for COVID-19 before scheduling, screen patients upon arrival to clinic entrance. She/he will educate clients on treatment adherence; distribute flyers, surgical masks, gloves, and hands sanitizers to protect themselves and their household. She/he will refer clients’ complaints and requests to appropriate staff.

     

    • Ensure the clinic is practicing social distancing • Scheduling of telemedicine sessions • answering phones in a courteous and professional manner; greets all patients and confirm their appointment time; direct patient flow to assure smooth activity; • Accurately schedule all patient appointments and return appointment based on physician information • Also obtain and verify the patient demographic information including all insurance information required by the appointment system • Perform duties of signing and closing out E-Clinical Works for each patient. • Opens and sorts mail; monitor waiting room activities; maintains clean waiting area. • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of e-Clinical Works and CAREWare (Training will be provided) • Accurate data entry skills with knowledge of basic key boarding • Professional and courteous telephone skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly by telephone or in person • Knowledge and thorough understanding of medical office procedures • Knowledge of confidentiality and release of information (HIPAA training will be provided) • Ability to work under pressure • Skilled at managing multiple priorities independently • Sufficient knowledge of insurance plans (Training will be provided) • Ability to operate computer and multi-function printer, general office equipment, and telephone equipment

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required; minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a medical/dental receptionist, insurance processor or a similar position in a medical/dental office, hospital, insurance company health plan or other health related facility. Experience with computerized scheduling and billing systems; bilingual highly desirable.
