Academic Coach - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States - Advising/Enrollment - 2 hours ago - 11535 - The Academic Coach serves as the primary contact for students/learners from matriculation (orientation) through their fourth Quarter enrollment. Academic Coach manages a pipeline of learners through proactive outreach, coaching, motivating, mentoring, removing barriers, issue ownership through resolution, strategies for completion, and progress. They help learners clarify key decision-points and identify solutions and alternatives which align with the learners motivations and goals. Academic Coach utilizes strong relationship-building and influencing skills resulting in positive learner behaviors and outcomes, contributing to overall learner success and persistence. The Academic Coach is responsible for providing personalized interactions to assist learners in successfully navigating the path to achieve their educational goals. The Academic Coach will provide outreach at key milestones and based on identified behaviors throughout learners programs to help keep them on track and to assist with overcoming obstacles they encounter. Each interaction includes exploration of needs and provides personalized solutions to learners to effectively prepare them for long-term success. The Academic Coach also works with faculty and other University partners to address learner concerns and to collaboratively define options to help learners overcome obstacles and achieve academic success. · Onboard learners and manage pipeline of learners from beginning of program through Quarter · Establish purpose-driven coaching relationship with learners to drive engagement & persistence. · Assist learners in developing an appropriate personalized academic plan that includes all program requirements in order to meet their educational and financial goals. · Engage in financial and career related conversations: Align learners academic plan with financial and career planning and leverage incremental academic progress toward meeting professional goals. · Gain commitment and execute pre-registration consistently. · Engage in frequent contact with all learners based on individual learner needs, analytics and outreach protocols. Collaborate with individual learners to determine preferred method and time of contact, which may include phone, chat, email, and social media (or other TBD). · Respond to learner inquiries within 1 business day. · Provide coaching and guidance to learners to empower them with the tools and resources they need to be successful. Each interaction involves discovering needs, understanding the situation, recommending options and customized solutions, and always listening to the needs of the learner. · Assess learner needs in order to help them make fully informed decisions as well as challenging them to make progress toward their goals. This includes both transactional and transformational conversations. · Assist learners in leveraging what they are learning in their program within their professional lives. · Maintain appropriate and accurate documentation of all learner interactions in accordance with departmental best practices. · Quickly and effectively respond to at-risk indicators for learners. · Proactively reach out to learners identified as at-risk, including (but not limited to), failure to follow academic plan, drop in course room participation, and failure to successfully complete courses. · Identify root issues, build success plan to overcoming obstacles, and leverage resources for success, and ensure follow through and learner accountability. · Advocate for the resolution of learner issues and own until resolved, while upholding university values. · Collaborate with faculty and/or tutors to assist learners as needed. · Leverage tools, systems and software applications to manage learner data. Work as part of a team, to include collaborating with colleagues and other departments, and providing support to colleagues learner pipelines as needed. Qualifications Experience: A minimum of three to five years of professional experience using coaching/counseling, sales and critical thinking skills. Education: Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred. It requires the ability to work in downtown Minneapolis and in a high-rise corporate office setting.
