    Shenandoah Conservatory is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Voice to teach musical theatre on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

    The successful candidate will join colleagues in further advancing the musical theatre program’s reputation as a nationally recognized center for excellence in voice training. The candidate will teach Applied Voice to approximately 8 to 12 students in the BFA Musical Theatre program. Students in the program are trained with functional techniques focused solely on musical theatre and pop/rock repertoire.

    Required Skills

    Required and minimum qualifications include the following:

    • A commitment to Evidence-Based Voice Pedagogy
    • Experience teaching legit and contemporary musical theatre and pop/rock styles
    • Experience training the belt voice
    • A demonstrated passion for undergraduate vocal training and demonstrated ability to provide exceptional studio training
    • A masters degree in voice or a related field
    • An orientation towards collaborative work, and commitment to diversity and inclusion
