Johnson County Community College, a League for Innovation school, in the Kansas City Metro, is searching for a full-time, Assistant Professor, a faculty member for their Web Development and Digital Media program. This innovative and disruptive career program prepares students with the various skills and techniques utilized by professionals with titles such as website developer, web programmer, web applications developer, web marketing analyst, digital media designer/developer, UX & UI designer, Front-end developer, Front-end React JS developer, and JavaScript developer.
We are ideally seeking a person who has experience working with students and faculty of diverse backgrounds, and who possesses a thorough understanding of user experience design methodology and theories. Candidates with expertise in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, user research, usability, visual and critical abilities, strong fundamentals, innovative methodologies and integration of new technologies to complement the current strengths of the Web Development and Digital Media program are desired.
The Assistant Professor, Web Development and Digital Media position requires a faculty team member whose role is to instruct at all levels of the curriculum for students seeking the AAS degree or certificates in Web Development and Digital Media. This position requires an individual who embraces the vision of the Web Development and Digital Media program, contemporary design and development practices, pedagogy, innovation, collegiality, and collaboration.
The position requires an energetic, creative, self-motivated person who has demonstrated proven teaching, leadership and communication skills.
A successful candidate will:
Experience in digital post-production and/or shooting, editing, and producing online video packages will be advantageous. Teaching assignments may be day, evening, or weekend, and are subject to change as needed.
