Job Description
The Beyond the Dome career development program is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and student-focused Career Program Specialist to join a collaborative and energetic team. This role is central to the program’s daily operations and plays an important part in creating meaningful experiences for students as they explore careers and build professional connections. The Specialist serves as a key point of contact for students, employer partners, and campus collaborators, helping deliver engaging events, initiatives, and opportunities that support student growth.
What is Beyond the Dome?
Beyond the Dome is the preeminent career development program that provides the platform for College of Arts & Letters students to explore a range of potential career paths while creating access, exposure, and opportunities to break into their desired career industry. The mission of this program is to guide students to articulate what they seek in a job, but more importantly, what they want their lives to look like post-grad. In doing so, Beyond the Dome strives to instill a more holistic career development narrative, stressing the need and importance of a liberal arts education in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement
Recruit and onboard student participants for peer-based initiatives, including the Peers 2 Careers (P2C) Hall Ambassador program
Support and help supervise student employees and ambassadors
Develop and deliver professional development workshops and training opportunities
Partner with program leadership to design initiatives that promote student growth and career readiness
Event Planning & Execution
Employer Engagement
Marketing & Communications
Support implementation of program communications and outreach strategies
Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy and accessibility
Oversee and support communications led through the P2C Hall Ambassador program
