    Job Description

    _ MPH504 **- Cultural Competency & Global Health **_

    This course explores global and international dimensions of public health. Students consider epidemiological, political, behavioral, sociological, cultural and medical aspects associated with variations in health and disease of individuals and populations. Coursework examines a range of public health issues for developing countries and for affluent industrialized societies, and population-based public health approaches used in solving global health issues are introduced. In addition, students will examine assumptions made about their cultural competency and how to work with populations who might share different values than their own.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.

    • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.

    • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.

    • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.

    • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.

    • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.

    • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.

    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Complies with all policies and standards

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • DrPH or PhD in a public health related field is required
    • A Master of Public Health graduate degree is required
    • Two years of Online teaching experience at the graduate level is required
    • Experience in global field work is required

    Additional Information

    Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
    _In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

    Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. _
