School Operations Specialist Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation - Upper Marlboro, MD $50,000 a year Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation (CLF) is seeking a School Operations Specialist to perform non-instructional operations at one of our charter schools. This position has an entry-level salary of $50,000. Health and retirement benefits are available. This position will close on June 30, 2018 WHO WE ARE: Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation (CLF) is a non-profit organization proudly operating four, soon to be 5, distinguished STEM-based charter schools in Anne Arundel and Prince Georges counties in Maryland since 2005. Our schools are Chesapeake Science Point (www.mycsp.org), CMIT North (www.cmitacademy.org), CMIT South (www.cmitsouth.org) , CMIT Elementary (www.cmitelemantary.org) and our newest school - CMIT South Elementary (http://cmitsouthelementary.org) POSITION SUMMARY: The School Operation Specialist (SOS) oversees and manages the daily operations of all non-instructional school affairs. The SOS ensures that the school is managed with operational excellence and fiscal prudence by implementing and overseeing policies and systems while upholding the values and mission of the CLF Schools. The SOS works with the schools leadership team to maintain a school-wide culture of respect, achievement, diversity and empathy towards others through all its daily operations. The SOS supports the schools instructional team in creating an environment that maintains a concentrated focus on teaching and maximizes instructional time. QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of Bachelors Degree * Minimum of 2 years of experience * Valid Drivers License and personal motor vehicle ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: The actions of the School Operation Specialist(SOS) must always align with the CLF mission, vision, and core values. School Operation Specialists essential functions are: * Regular meetings with school Principal to discuss and follow-up tasks, challenges and action plans. * Oversight of: HVAC, Kitchen, Janitorial, Common Area, Pest Control and other contractor staff to ensure the CLF facility is clean & well maintained inside and out. * Collaborate with school personnel on project needs: staff, building and facility needs, capital equipment needs and other cost items for school improvement. * Conduct various building related inspections including but not limited to: Fire Marshall, Fire Alarm, Sprinkler & Extinguisher, Health Department, Elevator, etc. * Receive & transport deliveries to appropriate facility destination; maintain & conduct bi-annual school inventory. * Ensure school security systems and protocols are followed. Responsible for opening, closing and securing the schools doors. * Drive to/from school campus and local businesses for necessities related to school operations such as: mailings, event supplies, school items, bank deposits, etc. * Assist school administration during high-traffic times of AM drop-off and PM school dismissal * Manage & provide necessary reports to the CLF Central Office upon request. * Collaborate with IT staff to maintain & enhance school operations. * Assist school administration on emergency drill implementation. * Maintain internal & external school equipment and furniture. * Performs other duties as needed for school specific events or supervisory duties. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to stand, sit, walk and climb stairs which allow for independent mobility throughout the school building/facility to include floor levels, hallways, stairs, and playground areas * Able to stoop, bend and move heavy objects * Ability to observe student behavior, hear students and school public address/alarm systems and smell smoke or dangerous chemicals * Crisis intervention may require participating in physical restraints Job Type: Full-time Education: * Bachelor's Required work authorization: * United States 23 hours ago - save job
