  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Construction Coordinator will assist an on-site Construction Management team with daily, weekly, and monthly administrative reporting.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate in and in the absence of the Construction Manager or if solely supporting site, chair daily on-site meetings by providing the sub-contractors with a daily list of items that are complete and incomplete.
    • Assist in establishing the goals and deadlines for all project activities on a daily basis.
    • Assist in establishing a work plan within specific project parameters by utilizing resources and staff.
    • Effectively communicate with project staff and outline a work plan by assigning duties and responsibilities.
    • Support the Construction Manager with directing the flow consistent within the project schedule; or in the absence of the Construction Manager or if solely supporting a site, direct the flow of work consistent within the project schedule.
    • Support the management of the punch list and closeout process through Functional Installation Check-out acceptance.
    • Meet goals and deadlines established by others, or communicate in advance of the timelines established if goals are unattainable.
    • Support the monitoring and adjusting of project plans based on changes with the project.
    • Specific essential on-site duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
      • Update the ECI (Equipment Control Index) daily based upon deliveries
      • Manage site transportation and accommodations for all employees and contractors
      • Support the management of quality control
      • Complete the productivity reporting
      • Assist in job site safety management
      • Manage all time sheets on a daily basis
      • Assist in petty cash and misc. site purchases management / tracking.
      • Manage all site delivery documents
      • Responsible for obtaining supplies
      • Responsible for taking site photos daily
      • Assist / produce daily & weekly reports
    • Travel domestically and internationally 50-60% of the time, typically in 4 week increments.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
    • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.

     

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate in the interviewing and selection of Construction department candidates.
    • Serve as a trainer for new Construction Department employees.
    • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in an office and uncontrolled atmosphere.  Exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. 

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.   While performing the duties of this position, the employee will is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear.  Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. 

     

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field is required; or at least 7 years of related experience is required and
    • Knowledge of basic drafting skills and methods is required.
    • Knowledge of project scheduling preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
    • Remedial knowledge of AutoCAD 2012 or above software and associated file structures.
    • Ability to interpret engineers/designers notes and sketches for incorporation into design documents is necessary.
    • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
    • Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
    • Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
    • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
    • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

  • Qualifications

    • Load and unload baggage, cargo, and co-mail of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and airport baggage areas (baggage make-up area and/or inbound bagroom)
    • Operate ground service equipment to service the aircraft and its passengers
    • Marshal aircraft to and from gates (e.g. directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing, and towed aircraft)
    • Service aircraft as needed (e.g. aircraft lavatories, window wash, potable water, and deicing)
    • Operate heavy, motorized machinery/equipment including, but not limited to tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, pushback tractors, deicers, etc.
    • Lift, load, unload, and transport customer bags and cargo to/from aircraft's, bag carts, and conveyor belts
    • Perform aircraft interior cleaning as required
    • Stock aircraft and carts with necessary supplies as required, i.e. Inflight magazines and lavatory supplies
    • Responsible for aircraft security searches as required
    • Ensure ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Objects Debris (FOD) and that all ground service equipment is properly maintained
    • Follow safety regulations, which include the proper use of ground service equipment and wearing proper safety items
    • Any other duties assigned by management
