Adjunct Lecturer, Nonprofit Financial Management (On-campus/Online, Fall 2021)
Job Description
Columbia University’s Master's in Nonprofit Management program seeks candidates to teach NONPROFIT FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT. The course(s) are generally taught one evening per week for each semester.
SPS seeks individuals with a vibrant portfolio of academic study, professional experience, and publications to teach nonprofit financial management. The course(s) is intended as an overview of financial literacy needed for nonprofit organizations and should, therefore, focus on these areas:
CASH-FLOW ANALYSIS
BUDGETING
GAAP NONPROFIT ACCOUNTING
FUND ACCOUNTING
COST ACCOUNTING
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ANALYSIS
OPERATING AND CAPITAL BUDGETS
Candidates should have extensive leadership experience applying their discipline in the nonprofit sector, substantial teaching experience, and a deep and demonstrated understanding of academic and applied trends that are driving best practices.
Qualifications
Columbia University SPS operates under a scholar-practitioner faculty model, which enables students to learn from faculty possessing outstanding academic training as well as a record of accomplishment as practitioners in an applied professional setting.
