Job Description
COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY’S SUMMER IMMERSION PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IS SEEKING A TEACHER TO DEVELOP AND LEAD AN INTENSIVE AND INTERACTIVE 3-WEEK COURSE ON BIG DATA, MACHINE LEARNING, AND THEIR REAL WORLD APPLICATIONS. . RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop course content, syllabus, and assigned work.
Lead all class sessions (two hours every morning and afternoon for 14 days).
Establish and maintain a dynamic in-class environment.
Evaluate student work and write a holistic evaluation of each participant after the course ends.
Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries (for around 20 students).
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Expertise in the subject matter.
Aptitude for teaching.
Teaching experience preferred.
Experience working with high-achieving high school students preferred.
Additional Information
Compensation would be $7000, pre-tax.
Applicants must have U.S. work authorization, will not be able to hold any concurrent appointments at Columbia University, and will need to be in the United States during the weeks that the class is in session.
