    Job Description

    Columbia University’s Master's in Nonprofit Management program seeks candidates to serve as a part-time Lecturer to teach a graduate-level course in Communications & Marketing for Nonprofits. This required core course focuses on the unique marketing and communications needs and challenges of today’s mission-focused nonprofit organizations and explores how new marketing communications technologies are reshaping the way nonprofits must promote their work and share their impact, both online and off. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead class lectures, instructional activities, and classroom discussion. Attend all class sessions.

    • Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries.

    • Evaluate, grade student work and assessments.

    • Conduct office hours.

    Columbia University SPS operates under a scholar-practitioner faculty model, which enables students to learn from faculty possessing outstanding academic training as well as a record of accomplishment as practitioners in an applied professional setting. 

    REQUIREMENTS

    • GRADUATE DEGREE, WITH A PREFERENCE FOR A DOCTORATE, IN AN AREA RELATED TO THE COURSE SUCH AS MARKETING, COMMUNICATIONS, OR INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS.

    • SOLID PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING ROLES, INCLUDING ROLES AT THE MID-TO-SENIOR LEADERSHIP LEVEL.

    • WILLINGNESS TO TEACH ONLINE SECTIONS IN THE FUTURE.

    PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN A ROLE RELATED TO THE COURSE.

    • 2+ YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE, IDEALLY AT THE GRADUATE LEVEL.
