Job Description
Columbia University’s Summer Program for High School Students is seeking a physician to develop and teach an intensive week-long course, MEDICINE AS A CAREER CHOICE: THINKING LIKE A DOCTOR: http://precollege.sps.columbia.edu/highschool/summer-immersion/new-york-city-1-week/courses/medicine-career-choice-thinking-doctor.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Develop course content, syllabus, lesson plan, and assigned work (past syllabi will be available).
Lead all class sessions (two hours every morning and afternoon for 5 days).
Establish and maintain a dynamic in-class environment.
Write a holistic evaluation of each participant after the course ends.
Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries (you will have around 20 students).
Additional Information
MD degree.
Professional experience as a physician.
Aptitude for teaching high-achieving high school students.
Applicants must have U.S. work authorization and will not be able to hold any concurrent appointments at Columbia University.
