Cornell Health is seeking full-time, 10 month Phlebotomist to join their staff. This position works under the general supervision of the Ley Clinical Laboratory Supervisor. You will provide front desk reception and general administrative support, as well as facilitate inter and intra-departmental communications related to laboratory operations and test results. This position is considered an Essential Employee; those needed on campus to meet the needs of students, research programs, or general operations when the university is in reduced operating status or closed. Employees are required to report misses and near misses immediately to supervisor and via occurrence report. This position is OSHA category BBP1; TB1; ERG2. Required Qualifications: * Formal training beyond high school graduation of one or two years duration or equivalent. Some college coursework preferred. * One year training or experience in clinical lab field and phlebotomy training, phlebotomy certificate preferred. * Two years administrative assistant experience with at least one year in a medical setting. * Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required. * Ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, and technical staff in emergency, as well as non-emergency situations. * Ability to maintain a positive, non-judgmental attitude, respect, patience, and absolute confidentiality. * Experience with computer applications: MS Excel and MS Word.
