    Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for COPYWRITER/PROJECT MANAGER.  This is a FULL-TIME, 12 MONTH, EXEMPT POSITION located in Upland, Indiana.  Resumes will be accepted until position is filled.

    The Copywriter/Project Manager is primarily responsible for fulfilling the communication plan established by the Lead Generation team. Fulfillment includes writing, editing, proofing copy for print and electronic communication as well as ordering and sending print and digital material. The focus of this position is to move prospective students through the admissions funnel. The range of projects includes letters, brochures and emails for both prospective students and their parents. Skills needed for this positon include a high level of organization, good research and interview skills, creativity in new material development, enjoy working independently and with a team.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Implement the communication plan, including all print pieces and emails, so that communication is timely and, when possible, targeted. This includes writing/editing/proofing/reviewing/sending all admissions print materials and mass emails sent to our prospective audience.
    • Coordinate student staff as appropriate for completing workflow.
    • Cultivate relationships with key internal departments for story sharing and mutual support.
    • Adopt an accurate and consistent writing tone and voice for Taylor University.
    • Develop efficiencies within the print material development to ensure good stewardship within the context of good communication.
    • Coordinate with the Digital Content Writer for completion of taylor.edu news stories.
    • Write messaging for digital advertising.
    • Help plan and implement creative testing and apply insights to future communication.
    • Coordinate the processes surrounding the marketing automation software.
    • Run lists for sending material via mail and email.
    • Oversee the admissions social media accounts as needed.
    • Assist in the development of video promotional scripts as needed.
    • Perform other job related functions as assigned.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communication or a related field. A Taylor degree is preferred.
    • Self-motivated with a keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of communication and marketing.
    • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects, with diverse audiences and concisely communicate complex and demanding subject matter.
    • Experience collaborating on a team.

     

    SKILLS

    • Ability to self-manage during projects and proactively raise issues/concerns to the team.
    • Able to receive creative direction and accept feedback, while being able to work independently and self-motivated.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an affinity for problem-solving.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Ability to gain an understanding of unknown subject matters and communicate it distinctively and thoroughly.
    • Willingness to learn new processes.
