    Summary

     

    Certified Bilingual Spanish CLASS® Consultant Reviewers must be available a minimum of two weeks per month during the review season (October-May). As independent contractors, work is offered on an as needed basis. CLASS® consultants are responsible for completing the assigned number of classroom observations and ratings, using the Pre-K CLASS® instrument. Consultants are required to travel independently for all review events.

     

    Candidates qualified in this content area are required to participate on an initial review during which they shadow an experienced CLASS® Reviewer. They must also participate, and successfully complete, a dual coding event. During this event, the CLASS® consultant codes alongside, and receives feedback from, the CLASS® Dual Coder in order to be deemed reliable.  

     

    Note: Individuals meeting the qualifications must complete an application. In addition to uploading a resume, the applicant must upload a current Pre-K CLASS® Observer certificate issued by Teachstone.

     

    Required Skills

     

    Major Responsibilities

    • Follow the OHS CLASS® Methodology and all other DLH Corp required policies and procedures.
    • Arrive onsite with required technology and materials to be utilized throughout the review.
    • Observe, document, and code, teacher child interactions in all assigned classes.

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Drive independently to various geographical locations, some of which may be in different locations, and cover long distances or challenging terrain.
    • Sit or stand for long periods of time as necessary.
    • Walk, crouch, and climb stairs.
    • Visual and auditory acuity to perform functions of job.
    • Flexibility and the ability to manage unforeseen situations.

    Required Experience

     

     Skills

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to gather data in an objective manner
    • Proficient computer skills using various forms of technology
    • Ability to complete work according to a prescribed schedule

     

    Required Experience:

    Qualifications

    • Fluency in Spanish as well as English
    • Earned Bachelors or advanced degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
    • Current Pre-K CLASS® certification issued by Teachstone, and preferably one year experience conducting classroom observations.
    • 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following; consulting experience preferred: Head Start, public, or private early childhood educator
    • Early childhood program coordinator or manager
    • Early interventionist involving or addressing work in classes or home settings
    • Early childhood education trainer, mentor or coach
    • Federal or state oversight of child development programs
    • Involvement in college research projects that involve the use of the CLASS® tool

     

    Work experience must address a minimum of two of the following four areas of responsibility:

    • Supervision of early childhood classroom staff
    • Participation in child observations and assessments
    • Oversight of child development programs at the local, state or federal level
    • Instruction, training or technical assistance in the area of early childhood development
