    **Required Qualifications: **This administrative/faculty position requires a Master’s degree or higher in dental hygiene or a closely related field, three (3) years of administrative experience with emphasis in accreditation, and five (5) years of full-time teaching experience in a CODA accredited dental hygiene program. A current Florida dental hygiene license and certification to administer local anesthesia is required.

    Desired Qualifications: **** Experience supervising faculty is also preferred.

    Key Responsibilities : This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

    • Oversee and direct daily operations for the School of Dental Sciences. Responsible for maintaining accreditation of the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs through the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
    • Provide competent management of employees. Develop and distribute clear directives necessary for smooth administration. Provide competent supervision to ensure efficient and effective operation of all organizational units. Select, train, assign, evaluate and discipline subordinate staff.
    • Provide administrative management, such as calculation of faculty workload, conduct staff meetings and ensure staff compliance with College policies and procedures.
    • Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from students, staff, or the general public to solve problems or discrepancies. Research and troubleshoot areas that need development and improvement. Collaborate with other areas and departments to identify and support activities of benefit to the entire College.
    • Attend or conduct staff and other College meetings to exchange information. Serve as liaison for areas of responsibility with other individuals, groups, and organizations both internal and external to the College community.
    • Develops, presents and defends operational budget, review and approve expenditures, approve payroll for faculty/staff, and prepare financial reports for the Associate Vice President.

    • Participates in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills.
    • Engages in activities that advance the teaching discipline or profession.
    • Maintains or acquires appropriate or required certifications, licensure, or other professional credentials.

    College Responsibilities and Service:

    • Serving on department, school, and college-wide committees.
    • Participating in the promotion and continuing contract process.
    • Keeps scheduled office hours as required by the respective load formula for the purpose of academic advising.
    • Attends department, division, and college-wide academic functions.

    **Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: **

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, written/oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as the ability to be flexible to match the demands of the College.
    • Comfortable with technology including the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Function effectively in a team environment, grasp concepts quickly and develop and meet goals.
    • Take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own.
