    We are currently looking for a QA Supervisor with a passion for process improvement and quality. The Quality Assurance Supervisor has supervisory responsibility for all quality assurance and quality control related functions within the facility. Emphasis on creating and sustaining a team environment by setting expectations and following through with floor audits and providing feedback to teams.

    SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure employees have a safe working environment and use proper protective equipment.
    • Communicates closely with manager on performance issues, procedures, and policies to insure overall consistency.
    • Provide immediate feedback and consistent performance reinforcement to employees on a daily basis.
    • Holds subordinates accountable for performance.
    • Participate in employee evaluations (quarterly feedback sessions, annual appraisals, and new hire reviews).
    • Provide recommendations, drafts and/or outlines for disciplinary action and any other non-exempt staff documentation.
    • Manage employee attendance to ensure compliance with Company standards; approve/monitor overtime
    • Assign employee breaks and lunches and ensures appropriate coverage.
    • Oversee attendance & punctuality compliance of team.
    • Develops team and individual performance plans in alignment with dept., and company goals and objectives; communicates clearly defined individual and group objectives.

     

    DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Establishes and communicates quality improvement objectives and appropriately recognizes quality goals in the areas of sensory, lab maintenance, calibrations, RCA, customer concerns, vendor compliance, regulatory agencies and HACCP/Pre-requisite Programs, et al.,
    • Assist QA Manager on SQF audit compliance for the plant. Must be a certified SQF Practitioner.
    • Establishes, communicate and periodically quality assurance goals.
    • Monitors and provides input to housekeeping and safety.
    • Identifies potential areas for improvement by department and sets improvement objectives.
    • Provides planning and support to strategic initiatives.
    • Secures resources for QA Manager in order to meet quality goals (i.e., lab supply, standard operating procedures, sensory evaluations, swabbing, environmental monitoring program, COA's shelf life studies et al...
    • Establishes and maintains Standard Operating Procedures in order to minimize variability due to personnel in the lab.
    • Establishes and maintains a formal communication plan that improves communication between shifts and departmental support.
    • Provides resources for problem solving initiatives, (i.e. root cause, sensory evaluations, etc.) Coordinates vacation planning for employees and scheduling
    • Communicates policy changes and expected behavior. Monitors compliance to policies.
    • Training and development for employees that have a direct impact on food safety/quality or storage of ingredients, packaging or finished products.
    • All Cacique employees are expected to produce and promote our products and services in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality/Food Safety Management Systems.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentation Practices and Good Laboratory practices (GMP's/GDP's, GLP's)
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Preferred laboratory technical knowledge of dairy industry or other food industry.
    • Willingness to support a 24/7 day manufacturing operations. Able to work on various shifts.
    • Work efficiency in a fast pace environment.
    • Successful proven track record with quality, safety, customer service and employee development. Bi-lingual Preferred

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field of study or equivalent work experience.
    • With HACCP, PCQI Certification
    • 2 + years in a laboratory environment
