Xavier University’s Office of Marketing and Communications seeks applications for a motivated, forward-thinking Director of Graduate Marketing and Communications.
The Director of Graduate Marketing and Communications will spearhead the development and execution of targeted marketing strategies aimed at achieving the University’s graduate enrollment goals. This role will strategically manage a variety of channels, including print, email, digital marketing campaigns, and events, and collaborate with graduate recruiters, faculty, and other key constituents across the university to craft one cohesive, integrated plan for recruiting and engaging graduate students. Additionally, this position will support other initiatives and marketing strategies as directed by the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment Strategy, contributing to the overall success of student outcomes.

The Office of Marketing and Communications strives to maintain a marketing function that leads the industry by leveraging the Xavier brand for image, enrollment, and fundraising initiatives. This person will review all outbound work from our office to ensure the highest level of brand quality and consistency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage projects and act as the primary liaison for graduate enrollment and marketing initiatives, fostering clear communication and coordinated efforts across colleges and schools.
- Drive collaborative efforts to collect data, analyze insights, and inform the creation of targeted enrollment and marketing strategies.
- Partner with academic units to shape and implement recruitment and marketing plans grounded in performance metrics and best practices, while upholding institutional branding and compliance guidelines.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration among graduate program leaders and Strategic Enrollment Management to improve processes and ensure transparency.
- Introduce and maintain shared resources—such as tools, templates, and workflows—that enhance efficiency, eliminate redundancies, and support enrollment goals across graduate programs.
- Represent the needs and priorities of graduate units in institution-wide marketing, lead generation, yield initiatives, and communication strategies.
- Oversee graduate marketing and communications budgets, ensuring funds are allocated responsibly and effectively.
- Provide leadership with timely updates on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities identified through unit feedback.
- Supervise and direct an enrollment content strategist, responsible for managing all graduate-level email communication flows.
- Collaborate closely with graduate enrollment leaders in to align efforts and share best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong project management expertise, with a track record of coordinating complex initiatives across diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Experience managing digital marketing campaigns, including planning, execution, and performance analysis.
- Background in higher education, with a focus on graduate-level communications and marketing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the capacity to foster collaboration across academic units and administrative teams.
- Familiarity with project management and content management systems.
- Skilled in balancing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality or detail.
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms (preferably Slate) and digital engagement tools commonly used in recruitment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with some experience specifically in higher education, particularly enrollment marketing.
Preferred Qualification:
- Master’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to support a wide range of academic programs and engaging with diverse student populations.
- Proven history managing digital marketing campaigns for various academic audiences.
- Proven success collaborating effectively across departments and functional areas.
- 5+ years of experience managing projects or programs within a university environment.
- Familiarity with Slate CRM platform.
- Familiarity with both domestic and international graduate recruitment strategies.
- Prior experience leading and supervising staff.
