Responsible for monitoring activity on plant grounds, recording visitors and supervisors entering and leaving plant, protection of the premises, assets and visitors to the plant while maintaining a high visibility presence. Security Guard will prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions through detection, deterrence, observance, and reporting.

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Permits entry, maintain Security Log, and administer visitor badge program.
• Controls traffic by directing drivers.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, restraining trespassers. Obtains help by sounding alarms.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. Interviews witnesses and obtains signatures.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures. Monitor refrigeration units on loaded trailers.
• Answer incoming phone calls after regular hours.
• Receive and sign for all small package deliveries.
• Make routine rounds in the building when no personnel are present.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
