Magnet Site Coordinator JobID: 5008 - Position Type: Elementary School Teaching - Date Posted: 3/28/2018 - Location: Westdale Elementary - Process for Applying: Online Application - The Magnet Site Coordinator shall be responsible for the effective management of the overall school-based magnet program and the class or classes to which he or she is assigned. The Magnet Site Coordinator shall implement an educational program responsive to student and community needs according to state and local policy - Drafts the schools recruitment plan and coordinate its implementations - Assists the principal with creating and maintaining community partnership agreements - Creates community outreach initiatives - Drafts the schools interaction plan and coordinate its implementation, if applicable - Conducts the magnet registration process according to Board approved policy and maintain accurate documentation of all students enrolled in the schools magnet program - Conducts tours and speak with prospective parents - Conducts schedule and implement site-based magnet professional development activities - Purchases materials and supplies in a timely manner - Completes online requisitions for materials, monitors the process of receiving materials, log material in when received and disperse them to the appropriate teachers - Analyzes student test data to identify areas of strength/weaknesses - Communicates with parents regarding students academic performance - Prepares yearly inventory of materials purchased with magnet funds - Prepares reports as requested by the Office of Magnet Programs in a timely manner - Serves as editor of news articles related to magnet programs for submission in the Advocates Back to School insert, Parents Magazine, and district publications - Markets programs at fairs, festivals, and in other forums - Schedules appropriate educational experiences for the schools program - Participates in the districts annual recruiting event, i.e., Magnet Mania - Assist with registering students for the schools program - Prepares class rolls for the coming school year - Plans and prepare an appropriate budget - Assumes responsibilities for the opening and closing of school activities - Assumes responsibilities for all other duties as required by the principal and district office - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college/university with A Masters Degree, plus two years of progressive work experience preferred. Possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university. Must hold a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate.
