Responsibilities Researches and organizes information with SMEs, and then develops instructional materials (tutorials, references, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, tests, etc.) that transform complex, unorganized information into professionally written, clear, interactive effective CBT or multimedia instruction. Structures project timeline in collaboration with a course development team to ensure customer needs are met with the intended quality and are completed in scope and on schedule. Conducts a needs analysis, design plan and storyboard including measurable learning objectives and assessment plan, determines user experience and opportunities for instructor feedback. Designs, develops, and edits interactive activities that are geared to multiple learning styles that promote critical thinking. Manages and communicates project completion percentage to the stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure deliverables are completed in scope and on schedule. Demonstrates expert level of competence using multimedia tools and UI/UX software to design and develop course materials (e.g., Camtasia, Captivate 9, Canvas, Storyline, Articulate, Photoshop, NinjaMock, Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). Works independently, applying intensive and diversified knowledge in broad areas of assignments with guidance from the Curriculum Development Manager. Performs a wide variety of professional tasks, which demand a high level of creativity and imagination, and a thorough knowledge of the applicable customer needs and expectations. Provide support in determining the types of engaging activities to best meet the needs of our students, while ensuring the online, department and government standards are met. Identify vendor solutions and maintain vendor relationships. Demonstrate the ability to strive continually to improve both project products and the student experience. Demonstrates integrity under pressure. Is flexible, versatile and resilient with confidence in a fast-paced working environment. Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design. Four (4) plus years of user experience/interface design experience for software, Web applications which leverage emergent technologies, consumer electronics and/or mobile devices. Minimum of 2-years experience in eLearning development. Four (4) plus years using Adobe Pro (should be Adobe Creative Cloud Suite) and TechSmith Series. Four (4) plus years using UI/UX Designer/ Graphic and Interactive design software and tools and will Design Portfolio to accompany resume. Experience developing Section 508-compliant and SCORM 2004 packaging web-based solutions. Experience with HTML5 Development. Experience with ActionScript 3.0 is highly desirable. Knowledge of Learning Management System workflows, including beta/alpha/usability testing and eLearning distribution. Experience in developing eLearning assets and lessons - sometimes in conjunction with Flash Programmers/Graphic Artists. This includes graphics, animations, videos, simulations, assessments, interactive games and other learning tools using a wide range of technologies. Skills/Abilities: Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design comps. Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique. Understanding of Agile software development and project management practices. Understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies. Strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Author eLearning content in Adobe Captivate 8 or higher, Animate and/or Articulate Storyline 2 or higher, using course templates and following all development standards for color scheme, graphic design, and functionality. Coordinate design, storyboards, interactions and media assets (graphics, text, audio, and video) while adhering to sound instructional design principles. Develops strategies for integrating premium film content into courseware interactions. Knowledge of eLearning development principles and how those may affect the strategy used to build a specific interaction. Maintains current knowledge of eLearning industry and technologies. Experience developing Section 508-compliant and SCORM 2004 packaging web-based solutions. Knowledge of storyboards and wireframes that contain programming notes and interactive direction.
