Associate Faculty Pool, Communication Studies (PT Faculty) We accept applications for part-time faculty positions on an ongoing basis. Typical requirements for part-time faculty in the Communication Studies Department are listed below, along with a link to the department's web page. DESCRIPTION : The Communication Studies Department offers classes in the following: Fundamentals of Communication, Public Speaking, Introduction to Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Small Group Communication. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Graduate degree in Communication Studies. One year of successful experience as a Communication Studies instructor or teaching assistant at the college level. Other applicable experiences may be considered. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience with Canvas, either as an instructor, teaching assistant or student. Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including hybrid and online. Ability to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies. Ability to incorporate culture and social diversity within the course content. Ability to teach at a variety of times, including evening. Experience working with Running Start students and adult learners. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population. Coursework and/or teaching experience in race, class, and gender. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. Additional Information PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment. COMPENSATION : Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $4,260. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT : You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire. This position is part of a bargaining unit subject to a collective bargaining agreement. Position is subject to a criminal background check. APPLICATION PROCEDURE : All applicants must online.
