The Department of Business & Technology at Missoula College invites applicants for part-time, non-tenure track positions in our online Legal Studies Certificate program accredited by the American Bar Association. This program prepares students to enter administrative and support roles at private law firms and within the legal departments of government agencies, businesses, and non-profit organizations.

This is the perfect position for an attorney seeking to supplement their existing practice or begin a transition from the practice of law into teaching. In this role, faculty will be responsible for instructing a Legal Studies course or courses at the college level from the existing curriculum. Faculty are invited to design and implement effective learning strategies and environments and utilize innovative teaching techniques and technology in pursuit of delivering high-quality instruction and student assessment.

We are looking for instructors for the following classes to be taught remotely synchronously and asynchronously:

• Legal Ethics
• Introduction to Paralegal Studies
• Legal Research and Writing
• Torts
• Contracts

Requirements:

• To give the student a well-rounded education, we would like the program to offer exposure to attorneys and experienced paralegals
  • A qualified attorney will have a J.D. from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and be a member of the Montana Bar Association or have the ability to gain such membership within six months
  • A qualified paralegal will have an Associate's or greater degree in Paralegal Studies and a minimum of three years of experience to teach Introduction to Paralegal Studies

• Help administer project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Helps provide technical assistance on the project, interprets contract drawings and submittals
• Assist assistant superintendent, project superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly tasks including daily reports, daily safety walks, weekly quantity reports, and weekly schedule updates
• Understand the project schedule and the critical path
• Review content for the short-term plan
• Participate in the quality program including attending meetings, performing inspections, and verifying materials
