REGISTERED DIETITIAN - CAMBRIDGE, MA

on-call / as needed / based on appointments

HealthFitness is looking for a REGISTERED DIETITIAN to join the team at our MIT client site working on-campus in Cambridge, MA.  In this position, you will provide individual and group programs and presentations to the MIT Recreational Sports community including students, families, faculty/staff and other members of the MIT community. The hours for this position will be based on appointments scheduled.

You will facilitate discussion around nutrition topics including, but not limited to:

• sports performance and hydration
• estimated daily dietary calorie budget
• food diary and mindful eating
• physical activity to manage weight
• portion control; healthy meals and snacks
• nutrient-dense foods; eating triggers and cravings
• reading food labels and healthy grocery shopping tips
• eating healthy while eating out
• hidden calories in sweets, alcohol and treats
• facts about low-carbohydrate diets
• dealing with slips
• nutrition for endurance training
• meal planning
• eating for energy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition or related area.
• Registered Dietitian certification.
• 2+ years of experience in nutrition counseling, with an emphasis on sports nutrition.
• CPR/AED and first aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Safety & Health Institute within 30 days of hire.
