    POSTED JOB TITLE: ENGRAVER/PRINT SHOP EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

    JOB DESCRIPTION: production and reproduction of engraved/lasered materials signs and digital printed materials. Operate, maintain rotary and laser engraving machines. Knowledge of computer programs related to engraving systems. Operate and maintain print shop bindery equipment to include, but not limited to, paper cutter, creaser, collator, binding machine, drill/punch, wide format printer, folder and copiers. Organize and maintain a clean work environment. Must be customer friendly and be able to tactfully communicate with people.

    JOB DUTIES AS ENGRAVER/PRINT SHOP EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:

    -Operate and maintain rotary and laser engraving machines

    -Operate and maintain print shop equipment

    -Organize and maintain a clean work environment.

    -Performs other related duties relating to the operation of the Print Shop.

    **SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS **

    -Knowledge of rotary and laser systems -Excellent troubleshooting skills.

    -Strong mechanical skills.

    -Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

    -Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.

    -Strong computer skills.

    -Experience with hardware and software issues.

    -Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

    -Proficient in one or more graphic design packages such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, or similar.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    -High school diploma or equivalent

    -Experience in a production related environment preferred

    -Excellent written and verbal communications skills

    -Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail and analytic problem-solving skills

    -Works well independently as well as in a team environment

    -Basic math and computer skills

    -Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis -Ability to tactfully communicate with people.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    -Two years of experience in a print shop operating and maintaining related equipment and handling other printing operations, or similar education and/or training.

    -Operate engraving machines producing Braille signage with inserted Raster beads along with equipment listed and two years working in job shop environment.
