Job Description
Augsburg University’s CCNE-accredited Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) program is a post-BSN Doctor of Nursing Practice program track focused on preparing nurses for the advanced practice role of family nurse practitioner. We are inviting applications for a core faculty position (non-tenure track) to begin in May 2026. The Doctor of Nursing Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) track prepares nurses with a prior bachelor's or master's degree in nursing for advanced nursing leadership and the clinical role of providing integrative primary care to individuals and families across cultures and care settings. The FNP track emphasizes eliminating barriers to health through peaceful, just, and collaborative actions that uphold and improve human potential. Graduates are eligible to apply for certification as Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Preferred candidates will be committed to teaching and mentoring in the DNP-FNP track of the DNP program. Responsibilities for this full-time position (11-month appointment, 0.75) will include teaching, academic advising, supervision of student DNP projects, and service to the university. Preferred candidates will also have experience providing care for diverse populations in primary care, integrative care, or functional medicine. Classes are offered mostly during weekdays, with occasional evening classes. Classes are a blend of hybrid, including online synchronous and asynchronous sessions, as well as in-person on-campus meetings (usually 4-6 times a semester for the in-person sessions). This position includes being a robust team member of the Department of Nursing, including attending faculty meetings, participating in curriculum development/revisions when necessary, evaluating program outcomes, and ensuring accreditation compliance.
All faculty are afforded time for professional practice or scholarship. This time for professional activity aligns with our commitment to integrate clinical practice and/or scholarship with teaching.

Priority will be given to a candidate demonstrating interest and strength in teaching with an emphasis on primary care, integrative and holistic health, transcultural nursing, and leadership in the discipline.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range is $63,000-$70,000, DOQ.
