KPS Global is looking for a Director Construction Services.
Oversees all construction activities. Supervises all personnel working on construction project including construction and project managers, field staff, and administrative personnel.
Accountable to deliver finished project, meeting objectives defined by delivery schedule, budget compliance and adherence to workplace policies.

Accountable for the effective development of contracting strategies for all project subcontracts and respective execution.
Ensure all aspects of construction operations are executed as company policy dictates with regards to cost, quality, safety, schedule, OSHA, and client specifications. Ensures that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed.
Ensure preparation of Construction Execution Strategies/Plans and approve and issue for all projects.
Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by market, competitor and customer analysis and implement strategies to improve quality and/or reduce costs.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Maintain organizational structure with established fixed counterparts for each construction discipline and encourage alignment with other entities to support a global construction approach.
Ensure a smooth transition from the estimate to field mobilization. Guide both project management and field personnel in proper planning, subcontractor selection and execution of the work.
Monitor progress of each project and adjust as needed to keep the projects on track for success.
INTERACTION:
Select, hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
Collaborate with sales and marketing in identifying, vetting and pursuing new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic focus.
Coordinate project construction activities with the customer teams and project management team to ensure maximum collaboration and teamwork. Foster a “one team” approach.
Interface with potential and current clients to build relationships and promote new business, seeking repeat opportunities.
Work closely with proposal management and support proposal efforts including analysis of constructability of project; define construction scope of services; define subcontracting strategy and review and approve construction cost estimates. This will include documenting all key assumptions and data included in the proposal construction estimate.
Serves as primary customer contact when issues are escalated
Represents Construction Services on Senior Leadership Team
Daily interaction / collaboration with Sales, Production, Design and Engineering.
SUPERVISION / REPORTING:
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related area(s) is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive construction experience, including 10 years in leadership positions and proven field experience.
General Contracting experience preferred over specialty or single-division contractor. Ideally, time spent with ENR Top 500 General Contractor.
Experience should be varied year to year vs. same or similar experience year to year
Deep experience with construction management best-practice concepts, policies, and procedures for the field and administration including but not limited to, estimating, bidding, buyouts, contracts, subcontracts, budgets, scheduling, pay applications, change management and change order negotiations, risk management, stakeholder management, experience with claims and back-charges and project closeout.
Experience with new process implementation, internal change management, process improvement
Expert level skills with estimating, budgeting, scheduling, verbal and written communications. Includes software like Smartsheet, Procore, MS Project, Primavera.
Extensive experience with AIA processes, documentation and PMP certification preferred.
Effective leadership skills including risk assessment, risk management and conflict resolution.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks/projects.
Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software and other Company and discipline specific software applications, Infor Siteline ERP, Big Machines CPQ, Procore Construction Software
