THE POSITION:
POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Web Developer designs, constructs, supports and documents custom courseware and learning assets. The Web Developer participates in all phases of the CDLC (curriculum development lifecycle) in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team. The Web Developer ensures that the products created by the team meet the customers’ needs and contribute to the organization’s goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred
Industry Certifications in software, systems, network or project management disciplines; Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) in ASP.NET, Web Websites or Visual Studio Team Foundation Server; Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Five years’ developing and supporting custom enterprise website solutions
Track record of successful, solution-based implementations utilizing contemporary web programming languages
Advanced experience with client-side technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML and others
Experience with AJAX, XML, DOM, JSON
Experience with cross browser and cross platform compatibility issues (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, PC, Mac, etc.)
Experience with Version Control Systems such as Git, Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Visual SourceSafe, SVN, CVS or others
Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) and/or editors such as WebStorm, Komodo, Coda, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Sublime Text or others
Experience applying best practices including change management, effective error handling and performance instrumentation
Experience in server-side technologies such as PHP and databases is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S):
Thorough knowledge of technology solutions for the Internet, mobile devices, personal computers, and networks
Knowledge of database concepts
Knowledge of learning management systems and content management systems
Knowledge of Section 508 compliance requirements
Strong creative and aesthetic with graphics arts, design and layout skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Demonstrative skill in attention to detail
Ability to function effectively in a high demand environment
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Working knowledge of general office practices, methods, and equipment, including computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Ability to compile, review, categorize, prioritize, analyze and interpret data and/or information
