  • Responsibilities

    FULL-TIME, 40 HOURS PER WEEK, DAYSHIFT, MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:00AM-4:30PM

     

    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the training of new hires on a one to one basis, by demonstrating and explaining all relevant policies and procedures. Provides remedial training to existing staff as needed. Reports progress to the Logistics Leadership Team on a weekly basis or as needed. Assists management with developing and maintaining an effective training curriculum. Provides operational support to staff, including dispatch and mailroom. Works independently and communicates effectively with peers.

     

    PURPOSE:

    The purpose of this document is to describe the general nature and level of work performed by personnel as classified; it is not intended to serve as an inclusive list of all responsibilities associated with this position.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1. Trains newly hired personnel in conjunction with established policies and procedures. Ensures all training requirements, to include department specific checklists and competencies, are completed, initialed and approved by a member of the logistics leadership team before new hire is released for independent work.
    2. Reports any concerns or deficiencies to management. Offers corrective action(s) to improve performance and service quality.
    3. Assists management with developing training programs and materials, to include remedial and on-going training as needed. Monitors compliance for all personnel relative to training requirements. Reports deficiencies to management.
    4. Maintains working knowledge of all Logistical Support Services division standard operational procedures for accurate training purposes.
    5. Completes “ride-alongs” for all courier personnel to assess route and driving performance.
    6. Provides factual, objective documentation to management pertaining to deviations from established policies and procedures.
    7. Acts as a liaison to other departments and customers (in absence of supervision) regarding complaints, issues or concerns.
    8. Works on a flexible open availability schedule in order to work all shifts as required for training purposes.
    9. Assists management with preparing various qualitative and quantitative reports and record keeping.
    10. Works closely with the Manager of Education and other trainers at HNL for the purpose of knowledge base enhancements and professional enrichment
    11. Actively participates in the Continuous System Improvement (CSI) and continuing Education Programs.

Must possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills and constant focus and attention to providing quality service. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.

     

    Math Ability:

    Must possess and show excellent math skills.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

      

    Computer Skills:

    Ability to use Microsoft Office products and various other computer software products.

     

    Certificates and Licenses:

    Valid driver's license in the state in which the employee resides.
