    POSITION:

    Part Time Instructor of Art, Graphic Design


    The Department of Art at Cameron University is seeking an energetic, versatile faculty member to teach courses in the BFA Graphic Design Concentration.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Teaching load may include Computer Studio Lab, Typography, Advanced Computer Graphics, Graphic Design and Senior Art Studio. Faculty will be responsible to teach the Graphic Design curriculum. This position also requires a commitment to Departmental duties to include keeping weekly office hours and attending meetings, as well as the following, which may include:

    • Assist the faculty with various projects and tasks during the year
    • Provide assistance in making arrangements for meetings and lectures given by visiting artists
    • Assist in the preparation of gallery exhibitions / installations
    • May design visiting artist and exhibition invitations, advertising and printing requests
    • Preparation of Art Exhibition opening receptions
    • Contribute to the Department Foyer and Hallway Gallery by showcasing student artwork
    • Participate in the organization of exhibitions in the Science Complex Gallery

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A BFA in Graphic Design with a minimum of three years' work experience in the field and a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence. Candidate should demonstrate thorough computer skills and knowledge of graphic design software, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    MFA degree with professional experience in graphic design, and college/university teaching experience.

    SALARY RANGE:

    Commensurate with Education and Experience. $20,000
