    The Kymeta Senior Quality Manager will be a visible executive presence within the company and establish company-wide adherence to ISO-compliant quality processes and practices.  This position will lead a team of highly capable quality engineers and inspection personnel who support Kymeta’s current NPI manufacturing facility and will collaborate with our manufacturing partners as we scale to mass production.  The quality manager will be deeply involved in customer quality issues, managing customer returns and collaborating with engineering, research, manufacturing, and supply chain to coordinate actions and responsibilities in resolving customer issues.  The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral presentation skills along with seasoned judgment in executive communications.  This position reports to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Champions and sustains Kymeta’s QMS (quality management system), leads Kymeta’s quality management review process and coordinates active audits of the QMS.
    • Coordinates company-wide ISO certification, maintenance and re-certification efforts.
    • Advocates for the Quality Vision and strategies throughout Kymeta.
    • Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent. Manages the activities of direct reports to provide expert incoming inspection (IQC), in-process quality control (IPQC), non-conforming/scrap material management, supplier quality engagement and first article inspection processes in the Redmond NPI manufacturing facility.
    • Partners with supply chain to qualify and audit new and existing production suppliers.
    • Coordinates with the quality department of Kymeta’s manufacturing partners to provide seamless metrics and “one-voice” to Kymeta suppliers and customers.
    • Develops and manages company QMS metrics and dashboard for tracking and reporting
    • Coordinates Return Material Triage and troubleshooting efforts with engineering, product and software.
    • Creates and manages quality department budget requests and expenditures.

     SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum seven years’ experience in quality leadership positions completing multiple new production introduction cycles
    • Minimum five years’ experience in electronics and tight-tolerance mechanical low to medium rate manufacturing
    • Expert knowledge of ISO9001:2015. Experience with AS9100 and IATF 16949 standards highly desired.
    • Expert knowledge of quality principles such as AQL, CTQ, gauge R & R, and SPC.
    • Experience leading company-wide ISO certification, maintenance and re-certification efforts.
    • Strong background in Lean six sigma and statistical analysis packages (e.g. Minitab or JMP) required. Black belt certification highly desired.
    • Able to lead cross-functional teams in root cause investigations using problem solving methods such as 8D.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills

     EDUCATION

    • B.S. or higher in physics, electrical engineering, statistics or a related field required
    • Certifications such as CMQ, CQE, CRE, etc., desirable
