  • Responsibilities

    The Trade Manager plays a crucial role in the development of the Carpentry team members and team leads. The Trade Manager works hand in hand with Project Managers and Project Engineers in the development of schedules for jobs and tasks. This role manages and leads the team in the execution of their commitments in keeping with the values of the company. This role provides regular input prior to, during, and following job/task execution on projects, and interacts with internal and external customers on a daily basis.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the technical development of team members.
    • Partner with the Project management staff in developing schedules, costing, and defining the quality of jobs and tasks to be performed.
    • Assist the Team Leader in the management of the jobs and tasks in accordance with the defined Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety specifications.
    • Perform daily time audits and work order review assessments.
    • Ensure appropriate materials are procured in a timely manner.
    • Manage the compliance of In Process Quality Assurance program and support the IPQA process.
    • Oversee efficiency of billable work as dictated by the project schedule & budget.   
    • Assist team leads in the assignment of jobs & tasks.
    • Support team members in meeting quality standards and scheduled work.
    • Manage the activities of all sub-contractors performing work within their designated trade, including, but not limited to, solicitation of quotes, IPQA inspections, PO requests, and general oversight of the work.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the shop, work spaces on vessels, and throughout the entire property.
    • Assist team leads in the maintenance and operation of all shop related equipment.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Possess skills and experience with In Process Quality Assurance. 
    • Proficiency in Micro Soft Excel, Word, and other software.
    • Possess advanced knowledge and technical ability in Marine or high-end Carpentry.
    • Has the ability to assist in the implementation of training & development.

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • College Degree is a plus.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Able to stand for several hours.
    • Able to walk up to 600 yards and climb stairs.
    • Remain outside in adverse weather for long periods of time.
    • Able to pick up 25 lbs.

    OTHER: 

    • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment hair follicle test.
    • Satisfactory background screen is required.

      

     

    Required Experience

    • 5 - 10 years experience in Marine Carpentry or related field.
    • 2 to 5 years experience in Management or Team Lead.
