HealthFitness is searching for an on-call (# of hours depends on demand) CHILD CARE ATTENDANT to join our KidTown team in Gurnee, IL.

As an integral part of the childcare team, our KidTown Associates inspire even our youngest members through movement, community, and personal attention. They encourage active, social, and healthier lives by:

• Fostering an environment of movement based fun in a safe and comfortable setting.
• Leading activities such as arts and crafts, circle time, story time.
• Communicating both positive and negative behaviors to parents at pick-up.
• Creating relationships with our families.
• Keeping the space clean, free of germs and messes to ensure the well-being of staff and children.
• Strategizing with leadership to constantly better KidTown.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of experience working with children in an educationally supportive environment required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute within 30 days of hire.
• Must be comfortable with children ages 6 months up to 12 years old.
• Take initiative and ownership to a position and lead youth members with confidence and care.
• Possess outstanding verbal communication skills with children and adults.
• Must be patient, outgoing and friendly.
• Have high energy levels and can keep children moving in a variety of activities.
• Display a willingness to grow with the changing needs of members and our space.

Required Skills Required Experience

• Masters, or equivalent degree in cell biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English are required.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required.
• U.S. permanent residency status or ability to obtain visa is required.
• Experience performing cell culture and flow cytometry is required.
• Experience developing or applying dissociation techniques in the context of single cell RNA-seq or organoid cultures are preferred.
