Boston University Academy is seeking a full-time Chemistry & STEM Teaching Fellow to begin in August 2021 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Teaching fellowships are generally one or two-year positions and offer relatively new teachers opportunities for experience, mentorship, and professional growth. Teaching fellows teach a reduced courseload. Primary responsibilities for this position include co-teaching honors-level tenth-grade chemistry, advising STEM-focused senior thesis projects, teaching a section of our STEM seminar course (visiting labs in the local area with students), advising the robotics team, serving in the math and science help center, and contributing to other aspects of independent school life: leading clubs and activities, chaperoning trips, and possibly coaching. The fellowship also features opportunities to observe other teachers, be observed, and discuss teaching practice. The teacher will join a science department committed to inquiry, lab-based learning, and research.

The ideal candidate will have some experience working with adolescents, a degree in a related field, and a student-centered approach.
