    The Department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations in Boston University’s College of Communication seeks to fill a full-time faculty position as a Lecturer in Public Relations beginning with the 2021-22 academic year.

     

    Boston University considers Lecturers to be faculty members appointed primarily to provide instruction. Within the College of Communication (COM), the basic requirement of Lecturers reflects strong teaching ability and a relevant basis of professional expertise and achievement. Although exceptions exist, Lecturer appointments usually are made for a period of three years. This is a non-tenure track position. BU offers degrees in advertising at the graduate (Master of Science in Advertising) and undergraduate (Bachelor of Science in Advertising) levels.

     

    Teaching assignments for the Lecturer currently being sought will include some combination of undergraduate and graduate courses such as: Business Fundamentals for Public Relations, Financial and Strategic Management for Communication Professionals, Media Strategies and Management. It’s possible the person hired might also teach within BU’s award-winning PRLab and/or the Principles of Public Relations class.
