Come, be the voice of Boston’s morning news.

We are seeking an exceptional, ambitious journalist to anchor Morning Edition, the flagship news magazine and partnership between WBUR in Boston and NPR in D.C. The Host works with the dynamite morning news team to present the latest information, essential news, and smart, creative storytelling to Greater Boston and beyond. We are looking for a journalist with a warm, engaging on-air presence, combined with a newshound’s drive and a passion for radio craft. Someone who challenges preconceptions and interrogates conventional wisdom. Someone attuned to the evolutions in the audio landscape, who has a gift for narrative and radio production techniques. This is the stable voice the region turns to in a crisis for facts and information, and in other times is a source of delight and surprise.

In addition to the broadcast, the Morning Edition Host plays a prominent role as the face of WBUR in the community, as well as online and on social media. This role is critical to WBUR’s mission to serve a broad and diverse audience every day and to pursue coverage that reflects the wide range of life in Greater Boston.

Along with delivering the news, the Host reports, writes, edits, produces, interviews - you name it. They will know the program clock in their sleep and will edit copy on the fly to hit posts. The Morning Edition broadcast is a highly-choreographed juggling act, and the host will be a consummate multi-tasker, able to transition seamlessly from delivering a newscast to interviewing newsmakers live on air. They will develop a strong bond with the editorial and technical staff that put the show on the air and will be a force of collaborative spirit and positivity in the newsroom.
