The mission of the newly established Boston University Center for Antiracist Research is to convene varied researchers and practitioners to figure out novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice. We foster exhaustive racial research, research-based policy innovation, data-driven educational and advocacy campaigns, and narrative-change initiatives. We are working toward building an antiracist society that ensures equity and justice for all.

The BU Center for Antiracist Research founded in 2020 by Dr. Ibram Kendi, is rapidly growing and looking for passionate individuals to join their dedicated staff.

As a key staff member, the Marketing and Communications Manager will work as part of the Narrative Office to position the Center as the place where “academic research meets antiracist action.” This person will lead and manage the development of the Center’s overall messaging and branding across the Center’s four offices--Research, Policy, Narrative, and Advocacy—to assist the Center in shaping and shifting the narrative around antiracism. They are responsible for maintaining the Center’s branding in all aspects of the Center’s activities, both internal and external. This person will work with a high degree of initiative and creativity while also closely collaborating with other stakeholders within the Center and in the greater Boston University community. The Marketing and Communications Manager will have primary responsibility for the Center’s website, newsletter, social media, and digital communications. They will develop plans to communicate the Center’s research findings and project initiatives to the general public as well as create internal communications protocols. The Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and monitor key performance indicators to constantly improve communications strategies.
