The Department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations in Boston University’s College of Communication seeks to fill a full-time faculty position as a Lecturer in Advertising beginning with the 2021-22 academic year.
Boston University considers Lecturers to be faculty members appointed primarily to provide instruction. Within the College of Communication (COM), the basic requirement of Lecturers reflects strong teaching ability and a relevant basis of professional expertise and achievement. Although exceptions exist, Lecturer appointments usually are made for a period of three years. This is a non-tenure track position. BU offers degrees in advertising at the graduate (Master of Science in Advertising) and undergraduate (Bachelor of Science in Advertising) levels.
Teaching assignments for the Lecturer currently being sought will include some combination of creative undergraduate and graduate courses such as: Fundamentals of Creative Development, Portfolio Development, Copywriting, Creative Video Development, Digital Communication and other possible courses depending upon curriculum needs and applicant expertise. It’s possible the person hired might also teach within BU’s award-winning ADLab and/or the Introduction to Advertising class.
