The main purpose of this position is to provide counseling and support services to engineering undergraduate freshmen students. Additionally, this role supports the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Programs with the recruitment, conversion, and freshmen retention programs sponsored by the Undergraduate Programs Office of the College of Engineering. These include, but are not limited to, the Spring Open Houses, summer orientation programs, and freshmen advising seminars.
Core responsibilities include:
This position recommends appropriate interventions for students in academic jeopardy and provides appropriate triage for student situations. Additionally, this position will serve as a resource for faculty, assisting them in their role as academic advisors by answering questions on policy and providing them with relevant advising materials. This position is an integral part of the Undergraduate Programs team and all services offered for undergraduate engineers.
