    Since 2007, PATH has collaborated with Ethiopia’s Federal Ministry of Health (MoH), Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs), community groups, and other partners to strengthen the country’s public health systems and address the most pressing health threats, including malaria, tuberculosis, and vaccine-preventable disease. We implement high-impact, evidence-based, sustainable programs to support those most at risk.

     

    PATH is looking for a National MASS VACCINATION COORDINATOR for the USAID-funded “Targeted and tailored support to increase COVID-19 vaccination” project in Ethiopia. The project will support the government of Ethiopia to fully vaccinate 70 percent of the total population against COVID-19.

     

    The Mass Vaccination Coordinator will provide technical support for planning and implementing targeted and tailored COVID-19 vaccination services and closely monitor the quality of the vaccination services. S/he will closely work with national and regional teams to design mass vaccination intervention approaches, implementation models that fit the target groups, and testing, and validating models. The Mass Vaccination Coordinator will be based in the PATH country office and is responsible to coordinate targeted COVID- 19 mass vaccination activities in selected sites of project regions. The national Mass vaccination coordinator will report to the project director based in Addis Ababa. S/he will be working very closely with the project leadership team based at PATH country office, MOH/ Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) team, and key stakeholders related to targeted and tailored COVID-19 vaccination. 

      

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Coordinate the overall activities of targeted and tailored COVID- 19 mass vaccination activities in selected sites of project regions.
    • Work closely with project management leadership to achieve the goals and objectives of the project.
    • With the guidance of the national leadership team, coordinate and facilitate capacity-building activities including customizing training materials and tools, coordinating training, supportive supervision, and review meetings in each region
    • Coordinated project efforts to build the capacity of national and regional technical staff in COVID-19 mass vaccination,
    • Play a central role to promote multisectoral coordination and collaboration to achieve the project goal
    • Coordinate and participate in national COVID-19 vaccination rollout activities including revision of guidelines, adapting M & E tools, and prepare training materials.
    • Proactively engage national MOH/EPI TWGs and provide a progress update on targeted and tailored support to increase COVID-19 vaccination project implementation regions
    • Closely work with SBCC and Gender advisors on designing gender, religious and culturally sensitive, and inclusive SBCC strategy.
    • Coordinate provision of national and sub-national activities such as advocacy workshops, training, review meetings, validation workshops, etc.,
    • Closely work with MEL advisor to ensure collection and compilation of quality project data, lessons learned, best practices, designing and testing of intervention approaches, and validation of models.
    • Conduct regular field visits to oversee the implementation of the project and provide technical support to project teams in the field.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports
    • Coordinate multi-sectoral engagement at national and subnational levels
    • Support the Project Director in coordination among USAID and key stakeholders and other implementing partners.
    • Closely work with the national leadership team to document best practices, design and test intervention approaches, and validate models that fit targeted groups.
    • Contribute to the development and writing of proposals for new projects.
    • Provide additional support as necessary to build the portfolio of PATH Ethiopia.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Master’s in Public Health or advanced degree in Public Health, health science, health service management, or other relevant fields.
    • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience with experience in immunization and maternal and child health programs.
    • Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with government, partners, donors, and international organizations at various levels.
    • Hands-on experience in designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, and intervention strategies in various settings.
    • Experience in facilitating meetings and moderating complex discussions with a variety of stakeholders including local NGOs, institutions, and governmental sector offices.
    • Experience in lessons learned documentation, designing various intervention packages, and report writing.
    • Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work under minimal/remote supervision.
    • Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multicultural environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, including cross-cultural teams.
    • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Must have legal Authorization to work in Ethiopia.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years recruitment experience; advertising/marketing recruitment experience strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations as they apply to recruitment.
    • Experience in working with retail clients.
    • Must have strong consultative, influencing and strategic thinking ability.
    • Strong project management, communication, relationship building and presentation skills.
    • Excellent interviewing and fact finding skills.
