    With an abiding belief that diverse perspectives are essential to properly engage audiences, Boston University’s College of Communication (COM) invites applications for two non-tenured Associate Professors of Practice of Strategic Communication.

     

    We are especially eager to have join our ranks a colleague who supports our institutional commitment to ensuring BU is inclusive, equitable, diverse, and a place where all constituents can thrive; who have a national reputation in strategic communication research or who are accomplished practitioners with national reputations in the industry. Candidates who are scholars should have a PhD in communication or a related field, as well as a program of research, an international reputation as a scholar, and the demonstration of potential for continued research productivity. Candidates who are professionals should have a BA/BS in Communication or a related area, with significant professional experience in strategic communication in a senior leadership position; an MA/MS is preferred. Candidates for this position will have the potential to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Consumer Insights, Advertising and Brand Strategy, Marketing Research Communication Strategy, Media Relations, Financial & Strategic Management for Communication Professionals, Research Methods, and advanced-level classes in one’s specialty area.

     

    The College of Communication at Boston University is a national leader in instruction and research of advertising and public relations. Duties include teaching three courses per semester, student advising, and participation in departmental committees. 

     

    Established in 1947, the College of Communication (COM) at Boston University is a large college with three departments: Mass Communication, Advertising & Public Relations; Journalism; and Film & Television. COM’s student population exceeds 2,000 annually, including undergraduates, graduate, and PhDs. COM integrates a strong liberal arts core with a heavy focus on preparing students for careers as communication professionals. The faculty is a blend of award-winning scholars and award-winning professionals.
