    We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a Coordinator I.

    Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Student Personnel or a closely related field. In addition to education, related work experience in a college or university setting is required. Reliable transportation and travel are required.

    Working Hours: Will vary between 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Occasional evening and weekends are required.

    Please note: This position will be based at the Daytona Campus. However, responsibilities of this position may require travel for temporary assignment or permanent relocation to any of Daytona State College campuses.

    The minimum starting salary is $40,400.00

    **J ob Description: **The Coordinator of Academic Advising will support the Dean and Associate Director with day-to-day operations of the Advising Department. The responsibilities of the coordinator will be to schedule, supervise, and report on initiatives such as advising training, the new student advising model, and outreach initiatives (e.g., Advisor on the Go program). Additionally, the Coordinator will support the Dean and Associate Director in regard to managing operations in the Advising Department including student appointments, phone queue, and the advising inbox. The coordinator will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to conduct Academic Advising sessions with students as needed based on the volume of students. The coordinator will serve as liaison to the regional campuses, traveling as requested for training, meetings, and to cover the office.

    **Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities: **

    • Support the Dean and Associate Director with the day-to-day operations of the Advising Department

    • Coordinate new student advising schedule, presentation, and sessions, including event creation in Outlook and CRM, and inputting NSA registration data

    • Assist with and coordinate new advisor training

    • Serve as back-up for PeopleSoft testing

    • Serve as liaison to regional campuses, traveling on a regular basis to provide advising support as needed

    • Assist with monitoring appointments, advising inbox and phone queue

    • Assist with department documentation maintenance and creation

    • Possess the skills and ability to disseminate accurate information to students, give appropriate guidance to the advising team, and to be knowledgeable about College and degree requirements

    • Collaborate with academic departments and university partners to plan and advise students at various stages of degree completion.

    • Develop and implement programs and support services for targeted student populations.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with colleagues and demonstrated interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to identify areas for improvement & innovation and develop initiatives to improve the student experience

    • Knowledge of college academic policies including FERPA, and the ability to handle confidential information.

    • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to analyze data, generate and disseminate information related to advising

    • Proficiency working in Microsoft Office & Teams

    • Serve on college committees as designated by Dean

    • Other duties as assigned

    • Performs functions to set up and operate standard types of machines to complete single or progressive operations on standard parts. Machines could include lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers or balancers
    • Maybe required to assists less experience machinists
    • Must have working knowledge of shop math, be able to read blueprints, and understand operation sheets
    • Must be capable of using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments
