Check your applications. 24-Apr-2018 -EPACS Administrator Harvard University Police Department 45369BR Job Code 405017 IT Professional (N) Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to EPACS Central Systems Security Manager, as a member of the EPACS Support team in the HUPD, the EPACS Administrator serves as a customer service and security professional and is responsible for providing physical security application support and advice to various stakeholders across Harvard University. The EPACS Administrator also manages the daily operational function of the Enterprise Physical Access Control System (EPACS) integrated security system and is responsible for managing security vendors across the campus. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Serves as key support person for CCure 9000 application within Enterprise Physical Access Control System (EPACS) environment. Monitor daily incident queue in ServiceNow and provide problem resolution. Provide technical support to schools or organizations that have migrated to EPACS, including but not limited to programming, application configuration, attending support and planning meetings. Provide trouble-shooting of any CCure 9000 related application issues Acts as liaison with facility, operations, and site managers for physical access control environment in EPACS and is responsible for routine coordination and ongoing problem resolution. Provide notification to EPACS customers regarding scheduled maintenance, unscheduled outages, and anything impacting system availability to customers. Responsible for managing a portfolio of internal clients. Proactively communicates with key facilities, security, and real estate managers to provide security support. Makes suggestions for system improvements, vendors, and hardware. Communicates policies and procedures and offers guidance on new construction projects. Facilitates and hosts regular meetings with University clients. Documents and communicates key decisions and action plans to meeting attendees. Supports the physical security systems and ensures their consistent and ongoing high performance. Assists with business continuity planning, as it relates to physical security efforts. Communicates with the Security Leadership Team regarding EPACS application issues and is responsible for routine coordination and ongoing problem resolution for University client portfolio. May attend tradeshows and vendor demonstrations to keep current on security technology and trends. Provide technical support for new security management systems as directed by the Security Leadership Team. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related technical field. In depth experience in Software House CCure 800 and/or CCure 9000 or other similar physical access control systems required. Additional Qualifications PSP or CPP strongly preferred. Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, business management, criminal justice, or related field preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with team members, University customers, management, and third party vendor support staff. Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to influence without authority. Must have strong technical background and be capable of translating technical information into general terms for customers. This position requires vast knowledge of the physical security industry. Knowledgeable of general trends, space and technology of physical security and how these relate to the needs in a higher education environment. Additional Information The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem solving skills for managing vendors across a large and decentralized organization. Experience with drafting and enforcing security policies and procedures helpful. Hands on experience with systems maintenance. Significant familiarity with integrated systems and windows operating systems. Familiarity with Harvard environment a plus.
