Must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Mississippi. Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen and other clinical requirements. Knowledge and experience to teach selected clinical areas of nursing. Knowledge of teaching and learning concepts for classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction. Desirable Prior teaching experience in a nursing education program. Portfolio of professional teaching experience. Responsibilities This is a full-time position for an instructor in the Transition to RN option which is an evening and weekend program. Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday night and clinical is held every other Saturday and Sunday while school is in session. A typical work week for faculty in this option, include Tues and Thurs 1:15-8:45; Wed/Fri 8:00- 3:30; 6-7 weekends per semester on Sat/Sun 6:45-2:45. Faculty are expected to also work part-time during the summer semester. Summer work is reflected in a separate teaching agreement/contract. Responsibilities include: Plan and conduct classroom activities. Supervise students in clinical and campus labs. Select appropriate learning experiences to implement student learning outcomes. Provide for individual student guidance and instruction as needed. Assess and evaluate student learning. Participate in curriculum development. Participate in course, program, center and college meetings. Fulfill committee appointments and tasks as assigned. Work across programs and campuses and on evenings and weekends as assigned.
