    Job Description

    While most of us continue to work remotely, our newly renovated headquarters at the Old Post Office is open for voluntary return to work. Our organization is closely following the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and will share updates on our 2022 return to the office plan as soon as any decisions are made.

    Our apprenticeship program runs between 2 and 4 months depending on your advancement through the program, full time (40 hrs wk), paid. Our goal from the start is to hire you full time at the end of the 2-4 month period.

    Writing code to solve business problems and handle tickets:

    • Has basic / theoretical knowledge of application design and development
    • Utilizing Ruby on Rails framework, React/React Native, and vanilla Javascript and CSS. Hosting on Heroku, postgres database
    • Utilizes Git version control to manage code deployment

    Learning from others, pair programming, collaborating in product specific meetings, and sometimes mentoring others:

    • Works collaboratively with others in pair programming dynamic, and can communicate thought processes
    • Can report on the progress of various projects to guide and inform product leaders
    • Asks questions of their peersSpends time working towards understanding the relevant technologies we use at Home Chef

    • Approximately 1-3 months of programming experience via a bootcamp or self-study
    • Exposure to Ruby on Rails and / or React
    • Exposure to Git and Github
