    Georgia Military College (GMC) Department of Communications is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer.  This part-time position will be a member of the GMC Department of Communications.  Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and working closely with the Lead Graphic Designer, this position is responsible for producing engaging and effective communications in partnership with various departments and campuses. The graphic designer will create a wide range of collateral media and digital marketing materials to include brochures, information sheets, posters, social media promotions and advertisements.  The candidate must have a strong graphic design background and knowledge of best practices and industry-standard software.  The candidate will need to operate with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, prioritize effectively,  and have exceptional verbal and written communications skills.  The work schedule for this position is negotiable, but is expected to consist of two days weekly.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Designing, refining, and implementing print and digital marketing materials, packaging and various supporting documents for GMC collateral products.
    • The production of visuals such as infographics and photography, as well as coordinate and communicate with consultants and vendors and assist with print production.
    • The candidate will work with our teams to develop and maintain our web content, digital marketing materials.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Two years experience in the graphic design industry creating and designing from concept to finished product, marketing materials, print collateral, books and magazines, branding.
    • Proficiency working in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
    • Experience in creating visuals and packaging for Academia.
    • Strong writing skills.
    • Experience with video editing is a plus.
    • Familiarity with HTML/CSS/Javascript is a plus

     

    Preferred:

    Associate’s degree with study in Graphic Design, publication design, or related field, social media experience, photography

  • Qualifications

    Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program with current license to practice in the state. Prior home health or hospice experience preferred w/ minimum of 1 year medical/surgical experience. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills. Must be a licensed driver, with a good driving record, with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order. Works indoors in patients’ homes. May be required to work in undesirable areas. Possibility of strains due to moving patients.
