The Department of Biology at Iona College welcomes applicants for a tenure track position in Environmental Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory courses in Environmental Science, Ecology, Evolution, General Biology, and Botany. In addition, applicants who can design and implement a course in Biostatistics will be given extra consideration. The hired candidate will also be expected to perform service to the college and maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate students and that has the potential to lead to publications and extramural funding. Candidates who apply are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field and have a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience and 2 years of teaching experience at the college level. Individuals who have a proven track record of successful grant applications and / or the ability to transfer current extramural funding to Iona College will be given preference.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Research, Business Administration, Statistics or Economics with 1 to 3 years of experience performing market research and analysis and maintaining related databases; or 3+ years of directly applicable market research and analysis experience, preferably in HVAC or related industry, in lieu of degree.
• Must demonstrate high analytical ability, the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred:

• Proficiency with using Microsoft Office products, including strong Excel skills using pivot tables and vlookup. Experience using Logi Data Warehouse and Reporting Tool preferred.
