This position works in our Instructional Systems Technology department and supports all faculty in the school. Job Summary The Instructional Consultant consults directly with faculty, instructors and departments within the School of Education to create and revise existing on-campus, inter-campus and online courses using instructional activities and materials. Works with faculty and departments to develop course evaluations and assessment instruments that provide feedback on teaching. Works with individual instructors, staff, and departments to integrate technology and pedagogy into course design, using a variety of media technologies. Collaborates with Instructional Consulting staff to develop workshops, training, and informational resources as well as work with other School of Education departments, committees and work groups to explore and identify technology options for specific projects. Serves as office manager to ensure office coverage and quality response to client needs. Coordinates Studio 2261 activity. Required Qualifications REQUIRED : Masters Degree in Instructional Systems Technology or related field, two years of experience in the development of instructional programs and media, two years of experience in a position requiring frequent consultation and collaboration with clients (may be concurrent), and one year successful teaching experience in K-12 or postsecondary education or in adult/workplace training. Ability to identify, process and find resolution for ill-defined instructional problems at the postsecondary level. Excellent organizational and presentation skills, and be a self-starter. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate successfully with staff, administrators and faculty. Knowledge of educational theories and/or instructional design and their application to a post-secondary School of Education setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience with course management systems, assessment systems, digital presentation systems, online and digital video-based distance education, Web 2.0 technologies, and other emerging instructional technologies; experience creating online course materials.
