    Job Description

    ** This position offers a work-from-home schedule, with periodic team meetings and all-staff events. Candidate must reside in the state of Indiana or be willing to relocate by first day of employment. The anticipated salary range for this role is 41,000-44,000/yr.**

    The IU Foundation is seeking a Gift Fund Specialist to assist our Administration department with the giving process and manage gift agreements. In this role, you will serve as a point of contact and experienced resource for constituent account holders, development officers, IUF, and University staff by providing information, education, and outreach regarding managing accounts in accordance with donor intent. You will also be responsible for drafting and finalizing gift agreements for philanthropic partnerships across the University.

    You’ll operate as an expert in both Indiana University Foundation and Indiana University policies and procedures related to gift fund management. Exceptional judgment and the ability to work with little oversight are key to success in this role. With your creativity, critical thinking, and excellent customer service skills, you’ll play a big part in managing our donor gifts and making student's dreams come true.

    • Analytical skills and interpretive reasoning ability are essential.
    • Exceptional strengths in accuracy and thoroughness, with experience in entering and interpreting data.
    • Ability to come up with creative solutions to complex issues and requests.
    • Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals of varying levels through both written and verbal means.
    • Intentional and consistent attention to detail, with the ability to apply compliance guidelines to a variety of requests.
    • Exceptional strengths in follow-through and thoroughness.
    • Adaptability and flexibility.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively as workload requires.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, with specific emphasis on Word and Excel applications.
    • Experience working with a database or CRM is preferred.
    • The ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of accounting principles is strongly preferred.

    ** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**

    • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • A minimum of three years of professional experience is required.
    • A combination of related education and experience is required.
